Erika Amoako-Agyei is an experienced intercultural trainer & consultant, public speaker, and writer who works with global companies and organizations with existing or expanding operations in Africa. With more than 17 years of experience, she has worked in more than six African countries. For nearly a decade, Erika worked internationally for the IBM Corporation, including several years in West Africa as a Regional Manager based in Ghana (where her family originates). She managed company operations in the West African region, overseeing projects in Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone, the Gambia, and Cameroon. Open returning to the United States, Erika became the Director of Corporate Relations for the world-renowned Thunderbird School of Global Management. She is now an active consultant and trainer with top US Oil companies, global technology firms & other industry corporate and non-profit clients. Erika now resides in Arizona with her family.

Don Yurick was born and raised in San Francisco, California and is currently the Director of Sales and Business Development at Navera. A graduate of the Haas Business School at UC Berkeley, Don has over 16 years of national sales and direct sales experience. He is currently married and is the father of two kids. When not working, he spends his time swimming, lifting weights, and traveling with his family.

Anne Foley has twenty years of experience in business process management and improvement. Working with companies like General Electric, Ford Motor Company, American Express and many others, Anne has taught hundreds of students how to lead projects and fix broken processes. Anne’s primary focus has been teaching the mind set, skill set and toolset of Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC) to deliver products and services efficiently and effectively. Anne is a published author and has written many articles and one published book titled The Passages to Peace.

Chairman and President, Meister Cheese Co. and Muscoda Protein Products

Scott Meister has been the chairman and president of Meister Cheese and Muscoda Protein Products since 1990. Under his leadership, the company has grown from a small producer of commodity cheese to a nationally recognized leader in the production of specialty and artisanal cheese serving private label and foodservice customers domestic and abroad. The Meister dairy plants have seen significant expansions in size, employment and output in recent years, and continuous growth is planned. A board member of the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, Scott is a twin-engine instrument rated private pilot who enjoys flying for business, and pleasure. He is married to wife Rhonda, and has two children, Alex and Amanda.

Master of Arts in Sustainability, Arizona State University

While working in the corporate world for 5 years, Laurel developed a passion for educating people about green buildings, and sharing what she knew about design and sustainability with others. As a result, she is currently pursuing a masters degree at Arizona State’s School of Sustainability. Her research focus is on what K-12 students know and believe about climate change. She believes young people are the key to the future solutions for this issue, and it’s important to understand where they’re starting from when they form beliefs and behave in particular ways. Laurel joined SmartRoots Global in April 2014, and is excited to be part of such an inspiring team.

Zac Ziebarth is the founder of SmartRoots Global, Inc. and a graduate of Arizona State University. Born and raised on a small farm in the agriculturally-rich Midwest, Ziebarth has a strong passion for sustainability and finding ways to better the world. After visiting schools throughout Africa and South America in 2013 through a program called Semester at Sea, Ziebarth became inspired to empower the world’s next generation of leaders with education to solve global and community challenges. In the past, Ziebarth has worked in broadcasting, government relations, and the non-profit sector.
